Oh lordy, where on earth do I start with this review? Okay, SEGA, there was once a time when your games gave hope to the people, and the thought of a new Sonic game would make all Sega console owners jump with glee, but those days have long since passed. Your legacy died along with the Dreamcast, and so did Sonic, so please, I beg of you, stop reanimating the corpse of this legendary hedgehog and put Sonic’s tortured soul to rest.

Normally I’d give a rundown of the plot here, but that wouldn’t do this incarnation of Sonic justice. To really get the idea of how this game plays out, you have the see the intro movie for yourself.

Wait a minute, is this a Sonic game or a new Final Fantasy? After all of the stunning visuals and drama, a big-headed cartoon hedgehog pops out of nowhere to destroy half-a-dozen cyborgs and save the princess. Well, if it was going to be new Final Fantasy, it looked pretty good up until Sonic arrived. Putting Sonic in such a realistic setting like this is like sticking Mario in Lord of the Rings and expecting it to be the new Super Mario World. Also, who the hell is this new Silver character? I already don’t understand the purpose of half of the newer Sonic characters like the alligator or the stupid blue cat thing, but must there be a new addition every game?

Anyway, after the stunning/unintentionally hilarious intro movie you start out in what appears the be the surprisingly unscathed market side of the town that just got showered by Eggman’s bombs. Tails suggests that you find information on where Eggman’s battleship fled to, because apparently a giant floating war-machine is that hard to keep track of when you’re the fastest hedgehog in existence. During this part of the game, you actually roam around town talking to people, although most have nothing interesting to say. Eventually you find out in order to move on, you need to buy an ability from one of the shops, but first you need some money (gil?). A shoemaker next to the shop will offer to lend some money if you can test out his new shoes for him, at least that’s what he wants you to think. In reality, this is a test of patience, because you have to sit through 4-5 loading screens in the time that it takes you to accept his challenge, learn the rules of the challenge, do the challenge itself, be congratulated, the be taken back to the main game. Each and every one of those actions, half of which was just two lines of dialogue, was preceded by a 20 second loading screen, and I was playing the PS3 version; simply unacceptable. It. Would. Be. Like. Putting. A. Period. After. Every. Fucking. Thing. I. Said. All. Of. The. Fucking. Time.

Anyway, you complete his challenge and you buy the ability. What do you need this ability for, you ask? Why, to follow a line of rings across a 20 foot long gap that you couldn’t jump before even though once you get into the actual meat of the game Sonic easily leaps between walls and pillars at least 100 feet away from eachother. Once you’ve traversed this daunting obstacle, you find a gateway to the first real “world”, which is beach of some sort, overrun by Eggman’s death-bots. Remember those awesome moves sonic pulled off in the intro movie? Too bad you’ll never get to use them, because the only attack you have is a jumping roll that attacks all nearby enemies as long as you keep mashing the jump button. How about any of the old Sonic, fastpaced goodness, is that still intact at least? Well, yes, and no. You’ll still be zipping through curiously placed loops and tracks, but when you do this, control is taken out of your hands so you’re pretty much just along for the ride. Sometimes events occur while you’re speeding about, but those usually involve more button mashing.

Recently, Youtube has been the point of figment for censorship. I will say this now.

Fuck you, Youtube. This is not the Youtube we knew. This is not the Youtube I know. This is not Youtube anymore. This does not correspond to “You” anymore. This is simply media entertainment for only the people who are sponsored by the site itself; such unimaginative brain-children of the sponsor include a very, very annoying teenager named ‘Fred,’ along with the other pathetic forms of entertainment and interest such as Chris Crocker and other various individuals in the Youtube community.

These people have put in some almost effortless mainstream talent and subdued the entire internet phenomena with popularity, from when singing was first introduced (By Tay Zonday) to various viral videos protesting in an unusual manner (By Chris Crocker). To date, there are just so many videos that acclaim critical popularity compared to the very large user base, one that sites like Facebook and Myspace see.

But the question is, what is happening to this drafting phenomenon? Since Youtube was bought out by Google, there have been many strange changes that have been brought to light by those who are claiming that Youtube is heavily censoring content, almost unfairly now.

Take one video, known as “Low,” which is actually a remix by Travis Barker of the song “Low” by Flo Rida.

My, as the worm turns, we grow older.

Before I knew it I was about 14 years old not knowing exactly where I was going in life. I still feel like I’m 14 years old going in some odd direction I felt like I was suppose to years ago. Though, the system concept I try to downplay on a daily basis in the form of art and in the form of a social expression; it’s a sort of feeling I express personally because I feel like there’s still a lot to do.

By that, I mean look how far YOU’VE come. I bet you’re an okay person, and I bet you do okay things, but do you really have a job? Do you even care at all? Do you even bother? What I’m really trying to ask (and tell you) is that: what the fuck are you trying to tell people? I know people can hold it against themselves to ask “difficult” questions (which is absolutely bullshit I hear from people that almost taught me to not bother ask them), but if you don’t ask them, you won’t get anywhere. Why this? Why that?

And as you assume answers, your life becomes repeat. You are content with cycle – and why shouldn’t you? Well, as the worm turns my friend, Time ticks up, and you rely on it to tick down. You fail to laugh with, therefore you laugh at. Directing fingers wasn’t quite your style, was it?

I feel like people enjoy doing things manipulatively, but the intelligent person inside of me tries to associate the entire concept as subconscious innocence. I guess when you feel you had something robbed from you, being pulled on a chain can feel so enticing, but you realize there’s no more collar, and you’re free to roam. You risk your neck, although, aren’t you so much happier wandering aimlessly in a busy highway, full of speeding metal and danger?

I started all of this (my awesome kingdom of dirt) when I was 10 years old and I learned what the internet was and I learned what RP was. I come from one of the first circles utilizing the ‘kawaii’ faces/emoticons, because I was introduced into RP in the 6th grade. I remember COUNTLESS hours of this. 11 years, and how much art do you think I uploaded? Quite a bit, actually, probably even more than you.

Considering all the pixel art I’ve personally custom drawn/edited, the levels I designed, the music I pieced together (still producing/learning), animations I’ve made (and subsequently uploaded), the stories I’ve written, drawings I’ve scanned, pictures I’ve photoshopped, games I’ve coded, the RP, the MMOs, the online games we’ve all lost track or our minds in, the K/D ratios, the constant bickering on voice chat, Ventrilo servers, Teamspeak servers, Medal of Honor/Call of Duty servers, the shitty Xbox Live service, the PSN, and all the shit I’ve uploaded for scores…

I kick your ass.

I am a fucking god at anything that I want to attempt (video game wise, anyway). I am 21 years old. If I kept doing the daily routine of practices I have now for four years and learn something actually useful that lands me an ACTUAL job (one paying over 100 grand a year), I am going to retire early at 35 and become a master of video games and something in music.

I’m awesome. I won’t lie, I honestly think that Spose song “I’m Awesome” is about me. I think the patheticness that surfaces in the song’s verses and ironies and cheesiness exclaims a lot about me, but you know what? I don’t care. I’ll kick your ass at Tetris, I’ll live longer than you on Dead Rising (1 or 2), and I can show you what I’m made of at ANY Mario game EVER MADE. Even new ones. I don’t even play new Mario. New ANYTHING sucks. You have to understand new games are just monikers for, “we want money, give us your shit because we produced this shit and probably blew most of it on coke and grape soda.”

Shit’s child’s play, man. I’m done taking my break, I think. I’ll show quite a few people exactly what I’ll do before my life turns into a “downward spiral.” No offense, but unless I’m shooting heroin and calling you up about hookups for meth, I think I’m doing fine.
